MAHESHWARI RESIDENCE
BENGALURU
The brief for this project was quite simple - the family’s requirement of a large free flowing spaces. We worked with a design that played with heights and volumes, as well as incorporated plenty of natural light by way of sky-lit spaces and step outs into garden pockets.
The facade is covered with horizontal stone cladding in an asymmetric pattern. The exposed brick feature and sloped tile roof defines a Modern rustic style.
The entrance walkway has been articulated with a bamboo cover, casting light patterns on the stone below. The focus of this walkway is a coloured wall with an organic pattern extended onto its grillwork.
The house opens into a foyer and living space that overlooks a private garden at the rear of the house. The living, dining and kitchen areas seamlessly merge into one another, the focus of the living being a sky-lit wooden staircase leading to the family space. This part of the first floor overlooks the living, which is a double height, for visual.
